Transport and mobility

Almost two in three travel sustainably in Oslo. Most primary school children walk to school.

29 % of daily travels conducted by the inhabitants of Oslo in 2013 were conducted on foot, while 30 % used public transport, and 5 % travelled by bicycle. The car modal share has declined, while the public transport and walking modal shares have increased.

Most primary school children in Oslo walk to school. Only 7 % are being driven by car, while 9 % travel by public transport.
